Volcanic eruptions have shaped the course of history and continue to pose risks that reach far beyond their immediate surroundings. Yet, at the global level, these risks remain overlooked.
We exist to raise awareness of the potential for globally impactful eruptions and to encourage long-term, collaborative approaches to reducing volcanic risk. Rooted in science and guided by principles of equity and solidarity, we work to ensure that volcanic hazards are recognised alongside other global challenges—such as climate change, pandemics, and planetary defence.
By connecting people, knowledge, and institutions across borders, we aim to build a more prepared and resilient world.
